Sasquatch! music festival. This festival is held annually during Memorial Day weekend, May 25th till the 27th at the Gorge Amphitheater in George, Washington. This festival is wonderfully surrounded by towering mountains and a beautiful landscape. The festival grounds are purely the side of a mountain with a breathtaking view of a river. The amphitheater is within a decent distant from major cities. It's three hours from Seattle and five hours from Portland and Vancouver. On the downside the festival doesn't offer transportation due to its remoteness. So attendees are required to rent a car, carpool or find some sort of transportation.

Similar to Electric Forest and Burning Man, a lot of festival goers like to camp! It is not a requirement but if you want the full experience, its definitely recommended to set up camp. The campgrounds are separate from the festival grounds but within very close proximity. Tents are the most common form of shelter but RVs and campers are permitted on the grounds as well, just in separate areas. According to the
Sasquatch Festival website, there are places for standard camping, family camping, premier camping and gold big rig camping. Standard camping is just what it sounds like, a bunch of tents and chairs dispersed throughout an area. Family camping is a small area allocated for young children in order to shelter them from some adult experiences (not a 100% sure why children would come to this?). Premier camping allows tents and RVs and offers private bathrooms, nicer showers and and a shuttle to the amphitheater. Gold big rig camping is set aside for parties with larger vehicles that receive a concierge service, exclusive shuttle services and other amenities that you wouldn't ever expect to be offered at a festival.

Many Sasquatch! survival guides insist on being full prepared for everything. This entails fully stocking your campsite with all kinds of foods, too much is better than too little. As well as overstocking on water because getting up in the middle of the night to go to the water station isn't something you'll be looking forward to. The festival is held in Washington, so the temperature isn't always gonna be a nice 85 degrees day and night. Most of the time temperatures have been found to drop into the low 40's during the night, so it is highly recommended to overstock on blankets as well.
There is one single stage, or amphitheater, which is enough for everyone because it is set up so that the sound projects through the air. If you are one who likes to lay back and watch a performance, you'll be able to see and hear everything sufficiently on the hill. But in the case that you like to get down and dirty with the headbangers, the pit is the place for you, up close and personal. Every festival goer despite their status (VIP or general admission) are allowed to get however close they want to the stage. The festival grounds open at noon starting on Friday and close on Sunday night. However, the performers don't begin till 4pm on Friday, but they play throughout the weekend till Sunday. The lineup for this year includes: Bon Iver, The National, Modest Mouse, David Byrne, Tyler the Creator, Ray Lamontagne, Anderson .Paak, Spoon, Grizzly Bear, Vince Staples, Slowdive, What So Not, Jai Wolf, Margo Price, Petiti Biscuit and Hippo Campus. The music selections are very diverse similar to many festivals, including genres like hip-hop, rock and electronic.

The fashion has an alien, out of this world theme similar to Ultra. People like to incorporate all denims, tie dyes, banana costumes, furs, feathers, neons and sequins. West cost festivals tend to be a lot diversified fashion wise.
Oregon Live lists their favorite street styles from the 2016 festival. As I mentioned before, the weather isn't very consistent so people like to either be full clothed, no skin showing from head to toe, or the opposite wearing bikini sets.
Festical Tip: Arrive on Thursday to set up your campsite in order to avoid traffic and the commotion of rushed preparations!
