A Stage with a Naturalistic Backdrop

Sasquatch! music festival. This festival is held annually during Memorial Day weekend, May 25th till the 27th at the Gorge Amphitheater in George, Washington. This festival is wonderfully surrounded by towering mountains and a beautiful landscape. The festival grounds are purely the side of a mountain with a breathtaking view of a river. The amphitheater is within a decent distant from major cities. It's three hours from Seattle and five hours from Portland and Vancouver. On the downside the festival doesn't offer transportation due to its remoteness. So attendees are required to rent a car, carpool or find some sort of transportation. From Eventful Similar to Electric Forest and Burning Man, a lot of festival goers like to camp! It is not a requirement but if you want the full experience, its definitely recommended to set up camp. World's Biggest Festival

Summerfest. A eleven day festival hosted in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with way more than just music. This summer the festival starts on June 27th and goes till July 8th, with the exception of the park being close on July 2nd. Being from the midwest, I can tell you that this festival is extremely well known for all age groups: teenagers, adults and families with small children. The festival is hosted at Henry Maier Festival Park, which is on the east side of the city boarding Lake Michigan. Summerfest  says that it is known as the largest music festival in the world, hosting over 800 bands and 900,000 people. Summerfest is a small part of the Milwaukee World Festival Inc., and only refers to portion that hosts the concerts while the world festival lasts for over a month and hosts many different kinds of festivals and parades. USA! USA! USA!

Made in America. This festival might hit close to home for some of you, literally. The festival is hosted every year at Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is held on Labor Day weekend which is the first weekend of September. It is fairly new with its first debut in 2012 which is probably why the festival is only two days. But it has quickly grown into one of the bigger, more well-known, festivals on the east coast attracting over 130,000 people. According to  Made in America , in 2014 the same festival was held simultaneously at Grand Park in Los Angeles, California. But the festival won't return because all in all, it just didn't fit right in L.A. like it does in Philly. It's Electric!

Electric Forest. It is held every year in late June/early July in Rothbury, Michigan at the Double JJ Resort. The music here is very similar to Miami's Ultra, Chicago's North Coast and Las Vegas's Electric Daisy Carnival. It is one of the biggest festivals held in Michigan with over 45,000 attendees.  Double JJ resort is a three hour drive away from Detroit, Ann Arbor and Chicago making it very accessible to many different cities. There is a near by airport available too with direct flights from Chicago if you're feeling impatient. Otherwise, there are official Electric Forest shuttles offered from all surrounding major cities. From Front Gate Tickets This festival is for people who like to camp. A Festival Full of Knowledge

Broccoli City. This festival is a little different from most, it is only one day with very few artists. It happens every year at the end of April, and for this upcoming year it will be on the 28th. The festival is hosted in RFK Festival Grounds in Washington D.C. The artists don't perform in the stadium but rather around it. It is almost like one big musical tailgate with two stages that are within close proximity to one another. A Make-Shift City in the Desert

Burning Man. We're going to go a little off book for this one. This event is more than just a festival, it is a celebration and an experience. 99% of the time when you ask a person, "How was burning man?" they tend to just laugh and say it was great. They laugh because it is so difficult to depict how this experience went without actually being there. So for the duration of this blog I will do my best to explain other's experiences that I've heard and to simply cover the basics. According to Burning Man , the event happens at the end of August/beginning of September, so basically the week prior too and Labor Day weekend. The dates for 2018 event are August 26th to September 3rd. The event is built every year in Black Rock Desert which is around 120 miles away from Reno, Nevada. In the Midst of Manhattan

The Governor's Ball. 3 full days of music on a small New York Island. This festival plays every year in early June on Randall's Island Park, in the east village of Manhattan. There are around 150,000 attendees that show, making it a pretty well known festival. What makes this festival stand out is the diverse amounts of people that attend, mostly due to the diversified area that is New York City. The way in which the festival first started is pretty unique as well. An interview was conducted by Consequence of Sound with one of the festival's primary founders, Jordan Wolowitz. The story is that Wolowitz and the other founder, Tom Russel, met in boarding school at fifteen years old where their love of music allowed their imaginations to grow together.
